Meet the Inspector

Hi.  My name is Duke C. Brown, Sr.  I am the owner of Professional Services Unlimited and am the home inspector for our company.  Not all home inspectors are created equal.  As with any other professions the fact that someone can obtain a state license does not mean that they are professional or qualified to perform a proper home inspection or to effectively convey to you any pertinent information on your home purchase or sale.  Below is a list of my qualifications, experience and a list of the professional associations which I am a part of.  When choosing an inspector check their qualifications.  If they don't add up to ours call us.  We are your professional home inspection service.

Licensed General Contractor #17608

I have been licensed for approximately 28 years.  I used to build approximately 8-10 homes per year, mostly custom homes.

I have been involved in all phases of residential and commercial construction to include new construction, remodeling, additions, restoration and renovations, etc.

NC Licensed Home Inspector #107  I sat and passed the first ever exam for home inspectors in the state of North Carolina in 1996 and I was selected one of 12 potential inspectors in the entire state to sit for this first ever exam.

I am a 53 year resident of Rowan County.  I have lived in this area all of my life and I am familiar with all of the surrounding areas and counties.  I have been married to my wife, Gerry, for 25 years and  our youngest son Duke II 20, is attending college.  Our oldest son Coty is 24 graduated with a 4 year criminal justice degree and was recently employed by the Charlotte/Mecklenberg Police Department as a police officer. He is now emplyed for a defense contractor in Iraq.

Meet My Staff:

Our office manager handles all of the day to day operations of the business.  You will probably speak to her to initially set up the inspection.  She will ask a lot of questions of you that we will need to proceed with the inspection process.  Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. EST.  As I primarily make my own schedule you will make your initial contact with her to give her the information on what you need. I will call you back to coordinate or set up an agreeable time for the inspection or service needed unless I happen to be in the office when you call.
